Located in the Lockyer Valley, Queensland, Australia, Emmos Fine Foods began as a way of diversifying following deregulation of the dairy industry, after having been dairying for 3-4 generations. Annie Emmerson, our cheesemaker, did her first cheese making course in July 2005 and we added goats to our farm in 2007, which was also the year we got our Food Safe licence. Since adding goats we haven’t looked back and we now have a small herd which we milk to create our delicious cheeses and gelato.

Aiming to be as minimally traveled as possible, we grow most of the feed for our goats. Our dairy is right next to our cheese rooms. We are involved in every step of the process, from the feed production to milking, cheese making and finally selling to the local community through markets, direct orders, and small delis who focus on local products.

We try to keep our process as natural as possible with no added preservatives and we use minimal chemicals throughout our farm.

Emmos Fine Foods has won many awards over the years, including: First at the Queensland Dairy Awards in 2017 for our Cooper’s Blue; Champion White Mould Goat Cheese and Queenland Cheese of Show at the RNA Cheese Competition in 2011 for our Nannybert.
